Patricia Stout, M.S., R.N.
Associate Clinical Professor - College of Nursing
Ms. Stout received her master's degree from the Catholic University of America in 1989. She received her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner at URI in 2003. Ms. Stout is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus in family medicine. Ms. Stout's additional clinical background is in critical care nursing, especially acute care cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and medical-surgical nursing.
More recently, Ms. Stout has worked in community based clinics as a family nurse practitioner. Ms. Stout currently teaches pathophysiology and a clinical course in medical/surgical nursing in the undergraduate program. She is participating in offering continuing education courses in physical assessment and selected disease states at the Adult Correctional Facility.
Ms. Stout is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Rhode Island State Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau.
